What are Patimon?
Patimon are this game's equivalent of artifacts or equipment sets in other titles, meaning you’ll gain stat buffs from them. They come in four different rarities and eight different tiers (or levels).
Each higher rarity provides more and better stats. The rarities, from worst to best, are: Gray, Blue, Purple, and Gold.
- Gray Rarity: Provides no extra stats.
- Blue Rarity: Provides one extra stat.
- Purple Rarity: Provides two extra stats.
- Gold Rarity: Provides three extra stats.
Additionally, each rarity influences the strength of the stats. For instance, Blue rarity can roll a blue-level stat, Purple can roll purple, blue, or gray stats, and so on. The higher the rarity, the better the effect.
What do Patimon influence?
Patimon affect three main things:
-
Stats themselves: Each Patimon can provide from 0 to 3 extra stats. Which stats are best depends on the character. These stats also have different rarities, with gray being the weakest and gold the strongest. Some examples of these stats include:
- ATTACK: Increases attack points.
- DEFENSE: Increases defense points.
- MAXIMUM HP: Increases maximum health points.
- SUPPORT: Increases support points.
- ULTIMATE SKILL EFFICIENCY: Reduces how much tension is consumed when using an Ultimate skill.
- MOVING SPEED: Increases character movement speed.
- GRANT RECOVERY EFFECT: Increases healing given to others.
- SHIELD DAMAGE REDUCTION: Increases damage reduction for the shield.
- SHIELD RESISTANCE: Increases the health/resistance of granted shields.
- CRITICAL RATE: Increases the rate of critical hits.
- CRITICAL DAMAGE MULTIPLIER: Increases damage dealt by critical hits.
- MAXIMUM STAMINA: Increases the character’s stamina pool.
- COUNTER ATTACK STAMINA COST REDUCTION: Reduces stamina consumed by counter attacks.
- DAMAGE CUT RATE: Reduces incoming damage.
-
Skill levels: Some Patimon, instead of granting a stat increase, provide a skill improvement. This increases the indicated skill by 1. You can identify which character it belongs to by the pixel art icon on the Patimon. You can check the skill names in the character's menu.
In this example, the Patimon increases Todoroki’s “Spotlight” skill (his Strategy skill) by 1. Which skill is best to increase depends on the character’s role and your strategy.
Pieces and sets
The third factor Patimon affect is their set. Patimon are divided into three pieces: Head, Body, and Other. Each piece gives a fixed stat:
- Head: Provides Defense.
- Body: Provides Health.
- Other: Provides Attack.
Head gives defense
Body gives Health
Other gives Attack
To form a set, you need at least two of the three Patimon pieces belonging to the same group (identified by the group symbol). You don’t need the same rarity for all pieces; a gold and a purple piece will still activate the set effect.
When you equip at least two matching pieces, you gain an additional buff. This buff differs depending on the set, and the best set can vary based on the character or the role you want them to focus on.
Sets are categorized by Offensive, Defensive, and Support. They are also color-coded as Red, Blue, and Green, respectively. Currently, there are nine Patimon sets—three for each role:
Offensive
ATTACKER: Increases attack by 15%
GLADIATOR: Increases ultimate skill multiplier by 25%
BERSERKER: Increases Strategy skill damage multiplier by 25%
Defensive
DEFENDER: Increases maximum HP by 10%
PALADIN: Increases granted shield resistance by 20%
FORTRESS: Decreases damage taken by 8%
Support
HEALER: Increases grant recovery effect by 30%
TRICKSTER: Increases support by 30%
ENCHANTER: Increases duration of granted buffs by 25%
Stat Compare
By pressing this Compare button, you can see the differences between two Patimon pieces, allowing you to decide if the newly acquired piece is better than the one you currently have equipped.
If you prefer the new piece, simply click Confirm to equip it.
PAR
Once you have access to the Fractal Vice, you can use PAR. This system lets you pick a character and a Patimon piece. For the next 10 battles, all Tier 8 Patimon you obtain will copy one of the stats from the chosen piece. This can help in obtaining two gold stat lines, though it remains partly random which stats or sets appear. Use it wisely!
Additional Notes
- Don’t stress too much about perfect stats or sets—this aspect is somewhat like its own gacha.
- Stats matter more than sets. If you have pieces from different sets but with great stats, that might be better than forcing a set bonus.
- Characters can benefit from different sets based on the role you want them to play. For example, Santaro Mita can be built with a Support set due to his supportive kit, or an Enchanter set to extend the duration of his buffs.
- If one of your Patimon pieces has a skill increase for a different character but still has good stats, you can still equip it. Skill increases are valuable but not as crucial as the stat boosts.
- Gold chests typically yield skill enhancer stats, while Fractal Vice chests yield three-stat enhancers.
- Fractal Vice chests can contain Tier 6 or Tier 8 Patimon.
